About Napanee
Although destined to be remembered as the hometown of music sensation, Avril Lavigne, Napanee is a charming historic town in the County of Lennox and Addington, right off the 401 between Kingston and Belleville and on the eastern end of the Bay of Quinte. An original Loyalist settlement, Napanee dates back to 1784 and is home to the Napanne Beaver, the oldest independently owned newspaper in Canada, published every Thursday. The downtown has recently undergone a revival and a number of new restaurants and businesses have opened, including a new brewery, the Napanee Beer Company, recently voted new brewery of the year. Its small-town appeal, coupled with a concentrated push towards new business development to ensure a strong and diversified economic base, makes it an ideal place to call home, for business or pleasure.
