She also brings invaluable experience from her four-year tenure as a City Councilor for the City of Kingston, where she served as Vice Chair of the Planning Committee and served for four-years as a member of the Kingston Economic Development Committee. As well as Deputy Mayor. Her family's deep-rooted history in the community, with her mother Isabel Turner having served as the former Reeve of Kingston Township and Mayor of Kingston, further underscores Laura's commitment to the area.

In her personal life, Laura is a proud mother of two daughters, Madison and Marissa, both of whom have successfully launched their own careers. Madison works as a Equity Research Associate in Mining and Metals at Stifel Financial Corp in Toronto, while Marissa is a dedicated Kindergarten Teacher in London, Ontario.
